Sizing Guide

While there are no rules when it comes to the ‘right' size and placement of your rug, we hope the following suggestions will help you find the perfect rug for your home.  Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any more information.

Living room

A large rug will unify a large room, just make sure to leave enough space around the furniture to avoid feeling cramped, or perched on the edge of the rug.

Rec. size:  250x300cm | 300x400cm

In a room where furniture sits against a wall, placing the front two legs of the furniture on the rug will create a flowing feel to the space. Sideboards & cupboards should be left off the rug.                         Rec. size:  160x230cm | 190x290cm

Use a smaller rug centered under a coffee table in smaller rooms, or where the purpose of the rug is to define a specific seating area.

Rec. size: 120x180cm | 160x230cm

An area rug should extend at least 100cm on each side of the bed, framing it but stopping short of the side tables. This allows for rug underfoot when getting out of bed.
Rec. size: 250x300cm | 300x400cm

An alternative setup for a bedroom is to place smaller rugs on either side of the bed, creating a comfortable resting area.

Rec. size: 120x180cm

Dining room

In a dining room, a large rug under the table helps to soften the sound, and provide warmth and colour to the room.  Make sure the rug extends at least 75cm from each side of the table, so that the back legs of the chairs remain on the rug at all times.
