For general maintenance, we recommend vacuuming your rug regularly, preferably without brushes as this could harm the rug pile or create shedding.
For light spot cleaning, we recommend a small amount of Woolite, diluted with warm water. Be sure to use only the ‘foam’ to remove such spots and apply to a small area first in order to test for colour-fastness. Never rub the stain as this will spread the problem area. Dab with a sponge.
For coloured liquids, it is recommended to rinse the affected area with a neutralising agent, such as soda water or plain water, as quickly as possible before drying to prevent damage. We also recommend that you have your rug professionally cleaned once a year. Please contact us for more information in this regard.
While our rugs are manufactured using the highest quality dyes, colour fading will occur if left in strong sunlight for an extended period of time. Make sure to rotate your rug every two to three years. Please also note that shedding of ‘dead fibers’ is common with hand tufted rugs, and will gradually decrease with vacuuming. Do not pull any loose ends, rather trim with scissors.
